Says Anzyz’ CEO Kristian Hernes in the recent article made by AdvokatWatch Norge : https://lnkd.in/d77aHmJq

Anzyz Technologies, has released the second greatly improved version of AnzyzLegal, an AI solution designed to help lawyers analyze large volumes of text quickly and accurately. Anzyz sees the legal industry’s increasing focus on AI, especially among large law firms.

Kristian Hernes, believes that AI adoption is essential for lawyers to remain competitive and efficient. While larger law firms are embracing AI, smaller firms’ adoption varies.

Hernes points out that the current generations in the legal industry are interested and eager to learn more about technology.

“They see that AI is something they must learn because it makes them more efficient in their work” Hernes said, before issuing a statement: “The ones who resist, might may find themselves in a situation where they fall behind, and nobody wants that.”

Artificial Intelligence has the potential to revitalize archived patients’ journals by providing valuable insights and creating new meaning from existing data.

This is a summary of the original arcticle published in Norwegian in Dagens Medisin ->
https://lnkd.in/dpcVNyHj

The article discusses the significance of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, particularly the utilization of archived patient records. The Norwegian government recently announced a billion-NOK investment in AI, and Bjørn Børresen, Director at The National Archives of Norway, argues that it is crucial to use AI tools to gain experience, new knowledge, and improve public health.

The healthcare system faces challenges due to an aging population and increased health risks. To address this, access to data and the use of available technology is necessary. The Health Archive Register (HAREG) contains over 1 million patient records that date back over 100 years. These records are digitized and used in research using language algorithms.

By using AI language algorithms, researchers can identify relevant records and pages containing specific information, such as test results, diagnoses, symptoms, medications, and more. This increases research capacity and can lead to improved patient care and health enhancements.

The article provides an example of how AI is used to analyze clock test results for dementia and stroke. Using AI to analyze historical patient records can generate new knowledge and contribute to better public health. While there are challenges associated with the use of AI, researchers are encouraged to harness this technology to create new insights and improve patient care. The article emphasizes that the path to better health lies through practical experience and continuous innovation.

Large Language Models (LLMs) vs Case-Specific Language Models, which is better suited for your business?

Case-specific language models are typically trained on specific tasks, whereas LLMs (such as GPT-3.5) are general-purpose language models trained on a wide range of language understanding tasks. Case-specific language models are trained to perform a specific task, such as sentiment analysis, question answering, or text classification, and are optimized for that task by adjusting the model’s architecture, parameters, and training data. This targeted training approach allows case-specific models to achieve high accuracy on specific tasks, while LLMs general-purpose training may not optimize the model as well for any specific task.

In terms of cost, case-specific models are less expensive to train than LLMs because they are typically trained on smaller datasets and for fewer epochs. This allows for faster training times and lower computational resources needed, resulting in lower costs and reduced carbon footprint.

Additionally, case-specific models allow for the incorporation of task-specific data, which lead to better performance on that specific task. The process customizes the language model to better understand the specific patterns and nuances of the task-specific data, which lead to improved accuracy.

Overall, case-specific language models can outperform LLMs on specific tasks because they are designed and optimized for those tasks, and can often be trained more efficiently and cost-effectively.

However, LLMs general-purpose training still provides a strong foundation for understanding natural language, and it can perform well on a wide range of tasks without the need for customization.

In summary, in industries or professions where high accuracy and case-specific knowledge are crucial, such as legal services, using a product that allows for the development of case-specific language models, like AnzyzLegal, is a highly suitable approach. Custom language models trained on actual case documents provide lawyers and legal professionals with the precision and contextual understanding required for tasks like reviewing case files and conducting legal research.

Here are some additional benefits of using AnzyzLegal to conduct legal research and document review:

  1. Legal Expertise: Language models can be fine-tuned with AnzyzLegal to understand legal jargon, nuances, and specific case details, ensuring accurate and contextually relevant information.

  1. Data Privacy: Keeping sensitive legal information within a secure product like AnzyzLegal can help maintain client confidentiality and data privacy.

  1. Efficiency: Case-specific models deployed with AnzyzLegal can significantly streamline legal research and document review processes, saving time and reducing human error.

Lawyers turn to technology only to find themselves manually training up AI systems

Legal reviews are becoming increasingly complex and time-consuming, requiring sophisticated tools and techniques to manage and analyze large and diverse datasets. This trend has been driven by the growth of cloud computing, which allows businesses and organizations to store vast amounts of data online, as well as the growing use of social media, which generates large amounts of data in real-time. As a result, legal professionals are increasingly turning to technology solutions, such as e-discovery software, to help them manage the complexity and volume of data in modern legal cases.

Supervised and unsupervised learning are two different approaches to training artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Supervised learning involves training the AI using labeled data, which means that human annotators have manually labeled data with the correct answer or category. This labeled data is then used to train the AI model to make predictions on new, unlabeled data.

In contrast, unsupervised learning is a type of AI training where the AI system is not given labeled data. Instead, it is fed with large amounts of unstructured data, and it must find patterns and relationships on its own. In other words, unsupervised learning allows an AI system to learn from data without human intervention.

At Anzyz Technologies we use a combination of the two techniques, a so-called hybrid AI approach, by first applying unsupervised learning techniques to identify patterns and relationships in text data, and then applying supervised learning techniques to classify text data into categories.

A hybrid AI approach allows AI systems to take advantage of the strengths of both supervised and unsupervised learning, which can lead to more accurate predictions and classifications, particularly for complex and large-scale datasets.

With its hybrid AI system, Anzyz’ e-discovery removes the mundane work of having to manually train the AI, resulting in faster and more accurate reviews for legal professionals.

Adopting new AI technology in Law

We sat down with our Chief Commercial Officer Ole-Johan Meyer Melin to get some insights into his work with law firms in the Nordics.

We asked him to share some of the benefits and challenges for lawyers and partners when it comes to adopting new AI technology.

–  The benefits are many, NLP algorithms such as Anzyz CCL™ can be used to automatically identify and classify documents that are relevant to a particular case or issue. We clearly see how this will save lawyers and partners time and effort by reducing the need for manual review of documents and files.

Ole-Johan mentions some recent examples from his customers using the AnzyzLegal product when reviewing thousands of emails to extract important correspondence.

–  The Anzyz AI solution provides our customers with case-specific insights meaning they can instantly start querying the information. Data is tagged automatically, saving the end-user from significant work.

The feedback has been very positive in terms of accuracy, speed, and results as the lawyers perform their reviews.

–   This demonstrates how the Anzyz AI technology understands the context of unstructured data.

The challenge is obvious, we are introducing a new way of working, disrupting traditional behavior we associate with document review, however slowly but surely, we see how the customers are changing behavior. These tools can save time and money for the firm and its clients and can also be used to improve the quality of the work.

 Veldig intelligent

Algoritmer, kunstig intelligens, programkoder…
